In a challenging retail environment, sportswear company Fabletics has announced it will open a dozen new stores in 2017.
2017 got off to a rough start for the retail sector. Just days ago, Macy’s announced the closure of 68 stores with more closures to come. The very same day those closures were announced, Sears Holding revealed that it plans to shutter 150 Sears and Kmart locations in early 2017.
But not Fabletics. The “athleisure” wear company co-founded by actress Kate Hudson is growing gangbusters.
Twelve new stores are planned for this year. Most will be around 2,200 square feet and open throughout the year. The new locations will join 18 existing storefronts that opened in late 2015, according to a press release.
