Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan welcomed their son, Parker James, in May. Now, Drew Scott is speaking publicly for the first time about how fortunate he feels that his wish came true.

“It unlocks a side you didn’t know you had,” he told Entertainment Tonight in a Wednesday interview.

Linda Phan gave birth to Parker on May 12, the couple’s anniversary, after what Entertainment Tonight called “a lengthy fertility journey.”

In the new interview, Drew Scott elaborated further about what it’s like being a father and husband.

“You think you know, I have this deep love for Linda,” he said. “But then, all of a sudden, that’s the shallow pool. I’m not saying shallow with Linda, I love Linda, but there’s a whole other depth to Linda and my love together with Parker. It’s amazing just seeing his face when he looks at you, like, once he started focusing in and he locks eyes with you — oh, your heart melts. It’s amazing.”

Drew Scott gave the interview while on the set of HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother, a competition series. In it, him and his brother, Jonathan Scott, vie against each other as they flip houses. The next season of the show is reportedly set for next year.

Drew Scott Fulfills A Lifetime Desire

Drew Scott speaking publicly about his desire to be a dad stretches back at least five years.

After finishing a big remodel on their Los Angeles home for the series Property Brothers at Home: Drew’s Honeymoon House, it appeared they had made room for a future family.

“I wanted to make sure this house can function for kids, too,” Scott told People. “So at the end of the day between the aesthetic and the function this is the ultimate home.”

Phan added, “We plan on being in it for a long time. I’m willing to give up my craft room for a nursery.”

Drew Scott chimed in: “To be honest, our lives are always busy. But nothing is ever going to let me slow down on tying the knot with the woman that I love.”
