Tourist Catches Hoover Dam Explosion, Fire On Video

Firefighters in Boulder City, Nevada got busy this afternoon after an explosion rocked the Hoover Dam.

Officials were on the scene of a small fire that broke out at the Dam on Tuesday morning. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to Boulder City officials.

According to Boulder City’s Twitter page, the cause of the blaze is not yet known.

In a tweet posted at 11:31 a.m., city officials said firefighters were en route to an emergency call at the Hoover Dam.

They posted a follow-up tweet shortly after noon. The post said, “The fire was extinguished before Boulder City Fire Department arrived on scene. Bureau of Reclamation/ Hoover Dam will be handling any additional questions.”

The fire came to the attention of the public via a tweet posted by a woman who said she heard an explosion while touring the Hoover Dam on Tuesday:
