Right now, Jonathan and Drew Scott are best known for hosting “Property Brothers” on HGTV. But that could change.
Earlier this year, the identical twins released their first country music single. According to Entertainment Tonight, they consulted with Nashville songwriters Chad Carlson and Victoria Shaw to record and produce “Hold On.”
The sweet ballad reflects on the importance of family and togetherness. Its music video tells the story of a soldier returning home, interspersed with shots of the twins singing inside a homestead barn.
“I think the story really does resonate with a lot of different people,” Drew told ET. “We wanted to give something that any family, or any person that travels, can relate to.”
Jonathan and Drew, who musically go by The Scott Brothers, grew up in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and said they cherish the time they get to spend with loved ones.
“We’re always on the road and always away from home,” they said. “It really makes a difference when you’re getting to spend that time with family… So that’s what we wanted the song to be about. When we were writing it, it just sort of rolled off the tongue, and we were already envisioning what the music video would look like.”
While there are no immediate plans for an album or tour, The Scott Brothers have already released a second song, “Let the Night Shine In.”
