The two superstars recently teamed for a new version of Parton’s movie theme song “9 to 5” that came out Friday. The collaboration precedes the new documentary Still Working 9 to 5, which premieres September 16.

Kelly Clarkson hailed Dolly Parton in an Instagram post timed with the release of the new song.

“It’s out!!” Clarkson exclaimed. “The brand new version of ‘9 to 5’ that I recorded with @DollyParton is available everywhere! It was such an honor to join Dolly on this record and I am so happy with how it turned out. I hope y’all love it too❤️.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson revealed to Variety in an interview published Wednesday that she will release a new studio LP next year.

“This is an important album,” Clarkson reportedly said. “I’m working on this in therapy: I have a hard time vocalizing what I’m feeling sometimes, so music is helpful for me. It’s just been really healing. I recorded the record quite some time ago.”

Dolly Parton Looks Back

News of the collaboration with Kelly Clarkson came two days after Dolly Parton announced an upcoming greatest-hits album, Diamonds & Rhinestones, which hits stores November 18.

“This record is a collection of my favorite songs, and yours!” she posted on Instagram.

Additionally, Dolly Parton used Instagram to express her sympathies to the family and subjects of Queen Elizabeth II. She died at age 96.

“I had the honor of meeting and performing for Queen Elizabeth II on my trip to London in 1977,” Parton recalled on her Instagram account. “She carried herself with grace and strength her entire life. May she Rest in Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. Love, Dolly Parton.”
