As Britney Spears’ life appears to be spiraling out of control, the pop singer needs a strong support system if she hopes to survive. A key member of that team is Elton John, who is championing her once again.

Elton John recently collaborated with Spears on “Hold Me Closer,” her first new song in six years. The single is a new version of John’s smash hit “Tiny Dancer,” originally released 50 years ago.
Even so, the legendary pianist/singer took the humble route in a Thursday interview, saying the track is really “all about her.”
“I’m really happy for Britney, especially because having her on this record is such a gas, for start,” he said on Apple Music, according to Billboard. “But this is someone who has been through hell, who needed some love in her life, a lot of love from a lot of people, and she’s getting it.”
Then Elton John reportedly added: “She hadn’t really made any music since 2016, so it’s all about her for me.”
Per Billboard, Elton John revealed that Spears was nervous about the collaboration, since she hadn’t worked in a recording studio for more than five years. But, in his mind, she prevailed over the challenge.
“She did it so well and so easily,” Elton John said. “I was worried … if she would be so nervous because she hadn’t done it for a while. But she came through it with flying colors.”

Meanwhile, other developments in Spears’ life are not as uplifting. Her ex-husband Kevin Federline recently explained in a TV interview that he didn’t come to her aid during the conservatorship because he was too preoccupied with raising their children.
Spears responded in an Instagram post on Thursday, sending her love to Jayden and Preston — but also blasting Federline.
“I helped your father who hasn’t had a job in 15 years” she wrote, alleging that Federline smokes weed every day. “Tell your father to go try and at least mow the lawn…”
