In November, Bill Kramer, who is the CEO of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, confirmed that the winners in all 23 categories will be aired during the main show. Last year, eight of the categories were cut due to time and were given out prior to the ceremony.  There were several pre-recorded moments from the acceptance speeches which were then included in the broadcast.

Last year, Apple TV + film CODA won Best Picture at the Oscars, which was hosted by Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer.  The award show went viral on social media after Will Smith decided to slap Chris Rock while on stage after he joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
