Adam Levine finally had something to say about Blake Shelton leaving The Voice, an announcement Shelton made back in October.

And like others, Levine had some fun with it.

“It’s about time!” Levine told Entertainment Tonight.

Levine was speaking outside at the Oscars after-party. When asked if he missed Shelton, Levine looked back, smiled, and shook his head no.

Levine departed the show in 2019 after 16 seasons, leaving the good-natured back-and-forth with Shelton to fellow panelist Kelly Clarkson.

She too has spoken regularly about Shelton’s departure.

“If [Blake] wins, I am very happy for him, because that is super cool to win on the last season and he’s literally the show, from its conception,” Clarkson said recently. “But, like, I’m not, like, rooting for him to win. I’ll be happy for him if he does, but I’m obviously trying to win myself.”

Chance The Rapper, a new panelist, also had some fun at Shelton’s expense when asked about his own experience as a panelist.

“It’s been awesome,” Chance said of joining the show. “Kelly’s very, very sweet, very nice to me. And Blake is… here.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after season 23,” Shelton said in a statement back in October. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”

He added, ”It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week.”
