Everyone knows Adele. But do we know that she’s not actually called Adele? Well, actually, that’s her name. But apparently, a lot of people don’t know how to say it right.

This was revealed by no less than Adele herself, as she clarified things in a Q&A with fans in Los Angeles to promote her “I Drink Wine” music video.

When one London fan asked a question via satellite, Adele’s immediate response was this: “Love that … She said my name perfectly.”

The fan pronounced the name as “uh-dale.” We have all been pronouncing it as “ah-dell.” Big difference there, actually.

But what does Adele, 34, really care? She’s been churning out hits for at least a decade, making millions, proving to be perhaps the greatest voice of a generation when it comes to pure, natural singing ability.

Adele, or Uh-Dell, is about to embark on her “Weekends with Adele” residency at Caesars Palace later this month. It is scheduled to run through March 2023.

A native of London, Adele has now been on the scene for more than a decade, with her breakout album, 19, released in 2008.

The album gained her UK top-five singles, “Make You Feel My Love,” and “Chasing Pavements.” The album was then certified 8x platinum in the United Kingdom and triple platinum in the United States. She also earned the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

In 2011, she released her second studio album 21 which was the world’s best-selling album of the 21st century. It sold over 31 million copies. Her third album, 25 was released in 2015 and also became the year’s best-selling album.
