The war between Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline doesn’t appear as if it will end anytime soon.

And they keep getting the kids involved — though not directly. But clearly, the former couple is doing so with each other.

Federline has had a history of criticizing Spears’ parenting skills (to put it kindly), and recently revealed why he chose not to help her with her father’s well-documented conservatorship.

And now, Spears has fired back by calling out Federline in an open letter to their sons — Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15. The boys currently live with Federline and his wife Victoria.

While the relationship between the teens and their celebrity mother has been described as strained, Jayden indicated things can be repaired.

“I 100% think this can be fixed,” he said in a forthcoming ITV interview that also includes Federline. “It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.”

Spears responded in an Instagram post, sending her love to Jayden and Preston — but also blasting Federline.

“I helped your father who hasn’t had a job in 15 years” she wrote, alleging that Federline smokes weed every day. “Tell your father to go try and at least mow the lawn…”

Meanwhile, Spears’ current husband, Sam Asghari, added a comment of his own to her post.

“Mowing the lawn > professional baby daddy,” Ashari wrote in another clear shot at Federline.

At any rate, Spears is obviously hopeful that her relationship with her boys will turn a corner.

“Finally at 40, without the restraints of what my family did to me, I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life!!!! My love for my children has no boundaries and it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother…” she wrote. “And maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!!!!”
