Oh, Britney, when will it end?

To the satisfaction of maybe no one, including herself, Britney Spears on Wednesday posted yet another nude selfie on social media. As usual, her hands cover her breasts.

Also, she once again included an obligatorily troubling message with the photo.

“I have a premiere for a movie this week ‘THE LEGISLATIVE ACT OF MY P—Y’ !!!!” she wrote.

Making matters worse, her songs are publicly asking her to stop with the erratic behavior.

Britney Spears’ struggles are too numerous to count, and she is almost certainly alienating herself from others with her erratic behavior. There was the Framing Britney Spears documentary, the nude Instagram photos, the battles for custody over her children … the list goes on and on.

Last month, Britney Spears posted a long audio message on Instagram on Sunday, saying she was “pretty traumatized” by the conservatorship under which she was placed for almost 14 years. Accordingly, don’t expect to see her perform in concert ever again, she said.

The month before that, she posted a 22-minute audio clip on YouTube, alleging the conservatorship she endured amounted to “abuse.” Spears accused her family of damaging her with the conservatorship, saying they “threw me away.”

She also deleted her Instagram account — which might explain why she posted her latest selfie on Twitter instead.

Teaming with Elton John

In more positive news, earlier this year, for the first time in nearly six years, Britney Spears released a song. And not just any song — more like a collaboration with no less than Sir Elton John.

The Spears-and-John single is called Hold Me Closer, which is a new version of Tiny Dancer, John’s smash hit, originally released 50 years ago.

Interscope Records had initially revealed that the single will be available on Aug. 26, and per Billboard, will be produced by Emmy winner Andrew Watt.

“While Hold Me Closer marks Watt’s first time working with Spears, the songwriter and producer previously worked with John on six songs from the singer’s 2021 collaboration album The Lockdown Sessions, including a new version of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters with Miley Cyrus, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo and Chad Smith,” Billboard noted.

The announcement on Hold Me Closer comes just a few weeks after Spears revealed a more emotional version of her hit, “Baby One More Time,” on Instagram.

With all this in mind, is a new studio album in the works for Britney? Well, it doesn’t seem like it. Not yet.

Per PopSugar.com:

“The pop star hasn’t shared any plans to return to the recording studio, but in 2021, a source told People that Spears would like to release another album one day. The source explained that while she ‘loves creating music and wants to give her fans a new album,’ the singer ‘is focusing on one thing at a time.’”
