When your parents are rich, well, why not spend a little extra on jewelry? And by a little extra, we mean more than $80,000. And who cares if you’re only 10-years-old? That’s the story of Blue Ivy, the 10-year-old daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé — as the three of them attended the 2022 Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles. While there, Blue Ivy proudly stood to put in a bid of more than $80k on a pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings.

Of course, this really isn’t anything new for the daughter of the rapper and pop star. Back in 2018, Blue Ivy bid $17,000 on an acrylic painting of Sidney Poitier. She was 6-years-old.
So it was no surprise when her dad jokingly tried to snatch her bidding paddle. Perhaps thankfully for Jay-Z, Tyler Perry eventually outbid Blue Ivy.

“Somebody else was bidding against me. I didn’t know who it was,” Perry said, via Hoda Kotb. “I look over and it’s her. She’s taking the paddle out of Jay’s hand and Beyoncé’s hand and she’s bidding.
“I’m like, this kid’s not outbidding me today. You gonna learn today, little girl. I’m getting this painting. But Jay-Z actually pretended to pull it out of her hand and stop her bidding. But it was for charity so it was for a great cause.”
As for the earrings, well, Blue Ivey was again outbid — this time by Monique Rodriguez, the founder of Mielle Organics, who bid $105,000. But clearly, Blue Ivey had a shot.
Jay-Z, 52, and Beyoncé, 41, have been married since 2008. They have three children.
