Dave Grohl Spends 16 Hours Cooking Food for Homeless People in Los Angeles

Dave Grohl reportedly spent 16 hours of his time cooking food for homeless individuals in Los Angeles. The lead vocalist of Foo Fighters partnered with The Hope Mission for a barbeque event, where he prepared several dishes such as ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans for those in need.

Sources indicate that Grohl solely financed the project and even managed to catch a few moments of rest in the parking lot while the meat was being smoked. The barbeque fest helped feed around 500 people.

Dave Grohl Goes Viral

This isn’t the first time Grohl has been seen giving back to those in need.

Last year, Grohl, 54, gave a surprise to TJ Riley, a trauma nurse who was recovering from Covid-19, with a solo rendition of “Everlong.” Grohl made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to surprise the nurse with his special performance.

This year, the Foo Fighters released a statement about the future of the band after the passing of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins. They confirmed that they will continue as a group, but acknowledged that they will be a “different band going forward” without Hawkins.

“Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward,” the statement noted.

“When we see you again – and we will soon – he’ll be there in spirit with all of us every night.”

This summer, the Foo Fighters are scheduled to headline several music festivals, including Boston Calling, Sonic Temple, and Bonnaroo.

In September of last year, the band played two tribute shows for their late drummer in London and Los Angeles. The concerts featured special guests such as Queen, Alanis Morrisette, Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Cars, and Rush.
