Hey, go ahead and laugh. That may be exactly what Parton wants you to do — in the form of a comedy album.
That would be a first for the entertainment legend, but she indicated it is something she’s considered and may consider again.
“Many people have approached me with that idea, so I may take them up on it,” Parton said, via News TDY.

Dolly Parton, 76, does tend to dabble in things beyond country music, of course. She co-owns The Dollywood Company, which gave the world the Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. She also oversees the Imagination Library, which mails free books to children.
Along with that, she has held down starring roles in films such as Steel Magnolias, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and 9 to 5.
So comedy may be next for Parton, the fourth of 12 children.
“I don’t know if I’m funny, but my family has a good sense of humor on both sides, so I guess I just think funny,” she said. “To me, if it’s not a rhyme, it’s a joke.”
That said, it’s pretty clear that Parton takes one thing seriously, and that’s her marriage. She has been with her husband Carl Dean since 1966.
“We share a peculiar sense of humor,” she said. “One of the things that has kept us together all this time is that.”
