Amid a slew of honors and projects, as well as renewed cultural appreciation, Dolly Parton just received a $100 million gift for her charitable efforts.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who is worth in the $130 billion range, is responsible for the charitable donation. He said in a recent statement that Amazon established a “Courage and Civility” award not too long ago.

Bezos also noted that political commentator Van Jones and Chef Jose Andres, founder of a nonprofit that feeds people amid natural disasters, previously received the “Courage and Civility” award.
“@DollyParton, who leads with her heart, and will put this $100 million award to great use helping so many people,” Bezos said in the statement.
The beloved Parton turned to Instagram to humbly comment on the gift.
“I try to put my money where my heart is,” she wrote. “I will do my best to do good things with this money. Thank you.”

Indeed, even for those who don’t like country music, Dolly Parton is a class act. And a busy one at that.
Last week, she performed a new song during a ceremony celebrating the latest inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The ever-industrious Southerner is also looking forward to a new greatest-hits compilation due in mid-November.
Additionally, earlier this year, Dolly Parton announced a new pet apparel, accessories, and toy line that will raise money for animal rescue efforts.
