His long-running CBS show, Dr. Phil, is set to wrap up after 21 successful seasons.

Dr. Phil has given us some serious viral content with his show, including Bhad Bhabie, who famously said , “Cash me ousside, how out dah?”, which was originally an invitation to fight everyone in the audience, but quickly became an internet wide meme, earning Bhabie stardom which she then rolled into becoming an OnlyFans personality, netting her $50M.

McGraw said in a statement “I have been blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television,” and “With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do.”

The show first aired in September of 2022, after McGraw made regular appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show as a life strategy and relationship consultant. By 2007, Dr. Phil was pulling 6.6M viewers, and in May of 2008, the only show more popular than his was Oprah’s.

McGraw, who is 72 years-old, is said to have made the decision to stop producing new episodes of the show himself.

Recent ratings have the show pulling roughly 2M viewers, second only to Live With Kelly and Ryan, which is still impressive, but is nonetheless only a fraction of what the show was doing ten or more years ago.

McGraw said he looks forward to announcing a new “strategic primetime partnership” that would launch in 2024. He said he wants to engage with a broader audience about the state of the American family.

“I am compelled to engage with a broader audience because I have grave concerns for the American family, and I am determined to help restore a clarity of purpose as well as our core values,”.

Good luck Dr. Phil.
