Hoda Kotb’s whereabouts have become quite a topic of interest as the 58-year-old co-anchor of the Today show has been absent from the NBC morning show for more than a week, causing viewers to worry about the future.

Her most recent live appearance on the show was on February 17th, while she appeared in a pre-recorded segment of the fourth hour of Today with Jenna Bush Hager on February 20th for Presidents’ Day. Despite her absence, Kotb has been posting inspirational quotes and messages on her Instagram account, which she usually does.
Earlier this week she posted, “Choose hope.”

On Tuesday’s episode of the Today show, co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, was also missing from the program. Although Guthrie made an appearance at the start of the show, she was later absent, with co-anchor Sheinelle Jones announcing that Guthrie had tested positive for COVID-19 and had to leave the show immediately.
“It has been an interesting morning for us,” Jones giggles as weatherman Al Roker jokingly stepped away from her. Roker later stated that Jones had been sitting between him and Guthrie, which is why he created distance between himself and her.

This was the third time Guthrie tested positive for COVID-19, having contracted the virus in January 2022 and May 2022. However, she didn’t provide any updates on her condition on social media since she has given up Instagram for Lent.
The hosts of the Today show didn’t provide any further details on when Guthrie would return or who would replace her during her absence. With Guthrie’s out, the show is now without both of its main anchors.
