South Park just raked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over the coals in their latest episode. Now, Meghan Markle is reportedly “upset and overwhelmed” by the roast and she and Harry may even be looking into taking legal action.

South Park’s “World-Wide Privacy Tour” Is an Epic Roast of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Now in its 26th season, South Park is known for roasting everything and everyone, no feelings spared. Its second episode of the season, “The World-Wide Privacy Tour,” clearly is a play on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest exploits. The royal couple turned rogue as they fought against oppressive situations in the British Royal household, upsetting many who accused them of being ungrateful and of pursuing a “royal vengeance.” Claiming they’ve been hounded by the media and public gossip, they went on to star in a Netflix documentary. Simultaneously, Markle has marketed herself on social media as the host of her podcast Archetypes and Prince Harry released a tell-all bestselling memoir, Spare. It’s all a bit confusing for sure. They’re claiming to want to get their stories out but also saying they want their privacy.

The British Royals Are Parodied as the Prince and Princess of Canada

Enter South Park. The entire episode is based on a Royal Canadian Prince and Princess of Canada. While the characters are depicted in South Park’s classic style for those they roast (black oval eyes, mouths that extend and open laterally across their entire faces), there were details that even the blind could see. The Prince of Canada is a fair-skinned red head with a beard and mustache and the Princess has black hair, a darker complexion, and is wearing something that alludes to her outfit from the Trooping the Colour event in 2018.

In the episode, the Prince and Princess of Canada move to South Park, across the street from Kyle. The Queen of Canada has just died, and the Prince and Princess have had a royal falling out. They park a jet in their driveway and hang banners that say, “Leave Us Alone” and “Respect Our Privacy.” Then they start blasting fireworks and scream “We just want our privacy!” into a bullhorn while banging on drums.

Prince Harry’s Memoir Is Alluded to and Renamed Waaagh

In one scene, the Prince and Princess of Canada make an appearance on Good Morning Canada. They walk in waving flags saying, “Stop Looking at Us!” and “We Want Our Privacy!” When the host questions the Prince about his memoir, Waaagh (an obvious reference to Prince Harry’s memoir Spare), he points out numerous inconsistencies. The Prince has stated he hates journalists but just essentially became a journalist. And his “Instagram-loving b—- wife” says she wants privacy but is constantly seeking attention through her endeavors.

“How dare you, sir!” the Prince yells. “My Instagram-loving b—- wife has always wanted her privacy!” They proceed to storm off, declaring that they just want to be “normal people.”

The Satirical Cartoon Characters Are Painted as Vengeful

Kyle then tells Stan and their friends at lunch that he hasn’t been able to play with them lately. It’s all because the Prince and Princess of Canada moved across the street. And they’ve been occupying his attention and hounding him to buy their book.

“Look Kyle,” says Stan. “We just kinda don’t care about some dumb prince and his stupid wife.”

“I don’t care about them either,” Kyle responds. They both agree that they’re sick of hearing about the Prince and Princess.

Toward the end, the Canadian royals seek out a branding agent to switch their brand up.

“There’s this horrible spy who lives across the street from us, and we are going to get him back by changing our brand,” says the Prince.

The Princess Openly Refers to Herself as a Victim and Literally Has No Brain

The branding agent then says, “You must be the royal prince, millionaire, world traveler, victim.” And to the Princess, he says, “Is this you? Sorority girl, actress, influencer, and victim.” Both the Prince and Princess emphatically agree.

While at the branding office, the Prince realizes the extent of their self-objectification. “Trying to make ourselves into a brand just turned us into products,” he says. “We don’t need to be a brand, do we? If it’s truly what we want, then we really can get away from it all… No more magazines and Netflix shows, we really can live a normal life.”

“Yes, I’m sure you agree, darling,” the Prince continues. “We can be the people that we’ve talked about being with no more worries about how we look or the images that we project to people. What matters is what we have on the inside.” He then opens his wife’s head and says, “Hello?” but is met with an echo. The Prince then leaves as his “empty-headed” wife stays behind.

South Park Pulled Material Straight Out of the Same Tabloids That the Meghan and Harry Have Spoken Out Against

It’s easy to see why someone would be upset. Every detail of the Canadian royal duo, i.e., the parody of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, makes them look unbearable. It’s the boys quoting the public and commentators alike, about being tired of hearing about them. It’s the constant barrage of “leave us alone” that they appear to be screaming from the rooftops while simultaneously putting themselves in the spotlight. All of it was taken from real commentary that’s been in the public’s vernacular for years. And for someone who wishes to rewrite their narrative, like Meghan and Harry seem to, it’s a few steps in the wrong direction.

However, as some have pointed out, it’s the humor is all in good fun. Every famous person and their mother get made fun of by the satirical show at some point in their lives. Some would say those who get their very own South Park character are lucky. But the British royal runaways disagree.

Rumor Has It That Meghan and Harry Are “Taking It Out On Each Other”

According to The Spectator, sources in California have said that Markle is “upset and overwhelmed” by her satirical portrayal on the show. The publication also cites insiders as saying that she “is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all.” There are allegedly also rumors that the couple is so irked by the episode that they’re now “taking it out on each other.”

Some Sources Suggest Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Considering Legal Action Against South Park

Royal commentator Neil Sean is suggesting via Fox News that Markle and Harry may now be pursuing litigation against the show.

“According to sources close to the ex-royals, it appears that, like so many things with Meghan and Harry, this may have legal ramifications attached,” writes Sean. “Their legal team are casting an eye over the episode to see what is wrong, and what could be turned into something more sinister. This appears to be their course of action rather than laughing it off, enjoying the moment and showing the world that they get the joke…”

If this is true that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are indeed weighing the possibility of a lawsuit or cease and desist, it’s unlikely that they’ll succeed. As Neil Sean points out, South Park has its own team of lawyers and are very careful about the way they do satire. He thinks the show has “nothing to fear” and that they also “know they could not have broadcast it without the watertight details flattened out.”

I want to say I feel bad for Meghan Markle, but the truth is I’m a big South Park fan. And sometimes we all have to learn to laugh at ourselves. Hopefully, Meghan and Harry can get over it and can learn to laugh at it all.

  1. Megan and Harry are two of the most repulsive, disrespectful, disgraceful, hateful, evil, dimwits in the whole world. A disgrace to the human race. They need to shut up and fade away. We the people are tired of the shit they put out. ENOUGH SAID!
