“I can tell you there will be a sixth and there’ll be a seventh,” he stated. “That’s all I can say. That’s all I can tell you.” The show has not yet officially been renewed beyond its fifth season, which is now on break before the second part of the series airs.

Yellowstone has been a huge success since its premiere in 2018, garnering a dedicated fanbase. The show follows the lives of the Dutton family, who own the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. It has been praised for its strong performances, from actors Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, and Kelly Reilly. As well as for its stunning cinematography and its portrayal of the modern American West.

The season 5 premiere was the most watched show across all TV in 2022, so far averaging 13 million viewers per episode, according to Nielsen. Despite the show being left out of awards throughout the last years, Costner, 67, was a recipient at this year’s Golden Globes, taking home the award for best actor in the television drama series. This was the show’s first-ever major award win. Sadly, he wasn’t able to attend due to the increment weather in Santa Barbara, California, but did share his win on Instagram.

“Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press and @goldenglobes for this tremendous honor and to the @yellowstone team for bringing John Dutton’s world to life,” Costner wrote. “I share this recognition with my castmates, the producers, and our incredible crew. Most of all, thank you to our show’s fans, who love Yellowstone Ranch as if it were their own.”

The renewal of Yellowstone is great news for fans of the show, who have been eagerly awaiting the announcement. The show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, had previously teased that the series will come to a close after six seasons, so the renewal for two more seasons means that the fans will get to enjoy the show for a little bit longer.
