Jeremy Renner Hospitalized After Weather-Related Accident: ‘Critical But Stable’

Marvel actor Jeremy Renner is currently hospitalized after following a weather-related accident over this weekend.

“As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” a representative for the actor said in a statement. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

Renner was in the Mt. Rose Highway area located in Reno Nevada when the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury. According to the press release, “Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.

“Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.”

The actor reportedly lost a significant amount of blood before being airlifted to the hospital. According to TMZ, a snowplow accidentally ran over one of his legs and was quickly rushed to aid thanks to a neighbor who luckily was a doctor. A tourniquet was quickly applied to his left, before being airlifted.

The two-time Oscar nominee is set to return to the Paramount + series in Mayor of Kingstown. He’s also well known for his time in the Marvel Universe in The Avengers and The Captain America films, as well as the Disney + series Hawkeye. According to Reno Gazette-Journal, the star has a home in that area near Mountain Rose Ski Tahoe, which is about 25 miles from Reno. That region saw a winter storm hit on December 31st resulting in 35,000 homes across Northern Nevada’s Washoe, Carso Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties losing power this weekend.

Renner went on to score an Oscar nomination for best actor in 2010 for The Hurt Locker and followed with a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for The Town. Currently, The Mayor of Kingstown is set to begin on January 15th, which was created by Yellowstone mogul  Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
