He explained that the machine enables him to feel only 40% of his weight while walking. This type of treadmill features a bubble that inflates with air and surrounds the user’s lower body, gently lifting them off the treadmill in order to reduce the pressure on the lower body, according to the Running Physio site.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, in January Renner was involved in a snow plow accident on a private road near his home in Reno, Nevada. The report stated that the snowplow started sliding down a hill, prompting Renner to exit the vehicle without engaging the emergency brake. In attempting to stop the vehicle, he was hit and run over. After being rushed to a hospital in critical condition, it was revealed the actor suffered more than 30 broken bones.

On The Road to Recovery

Since then, Renner has been updating his followers on his impressive recovery progress.

Ever since leaving the hospital on January 16, Renner has been sharing regular updates on social media. Renner also previously shared a video of himself cycling on a stationary bike with his left leg and a photo of “The Book of Awakening” by Mark Nepo. In the caption, he explained that he was also focusing on his mental recovery. He also mentioned that his workouts and New Year’s resolutions had to be altered due to the accident.

“Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” he said via an Instagram post.

“Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.”
