Pesci, most famous for his appearances in Martin Scorsese films, became injured during the filming of the comedy sequel.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York came out on Nov. 20, 1992. The movie, directed by Chris Columbus and starring Macaulay Culkin, made $359 million on a budget of $28 million.
Its plot somewhat mirrored that of the first film, which came out two years before. Both movies starred Culkin, with Pesci and Daniel Stern as the bad guys.
On Tuesday, People reported that Pesci “absolutely” knew the second Home Alone movie would be worth undertaking.

The 79-year-old actor reportedly wrote in an email that the second flick delivered at least as much “energy and enthusiasm as the original.”
“It was a nice change of pace to do that particular type of slapstick comedy,” Pesci reportedly said. He added that the follow-up film had “more spontaneity and creativity on the set,” as the cast members knew each other.
However, the actor also admitted that he was hurt while making Home Alone 2.
“In addition to the expected bumps, bruises, and general pains that you would associate with that particular type of physical humor, I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry’s hat is set on fire,” he disclosed. “I was fortunate enough to have professional stuntmen do the real heavy stunts.”
