Apparently, actor John Corbett can’t get enough of Sex and the City, despite the fact the show ended quite some time ago.
But no big deal. Corbett and fans of the program can still get their fix, as Corbett’s Aidan Shaw will reunite with former love Sara Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw on HBO Max’s And Just Like That, according to Deadline.
Corbett, playing Shaw, did not appear in the first season until the final moments, offering fans a glimpse of what might be next.
Shaw, of course, dated Bradshaw in Seasons 3 and 4 of Sex and the City, breaking up twice. The first when she slept with Mr. Big, her future husband played by Chris Noth. The second when she and Shaw were engaged, but she ultimately decided she couldn’t commit.
John Corbett To Reprise SATC Role
But certain events involving Mr. Big in And Just Like That opened the door for a Shaw (and Corbett) return. Per Deadline, Corbett is set for a “substantial, multi-episode arc” in the second season.
Corbett revealed as much more than a year ago in an interview with the New York Post, when he said, “I think I might be in quite a few [episodes].”
Corbett, 61, first made a name for himself playing Chris Stevens on CBS’ Northern Exposure from 1990-95. He later starred as Ian Miller in My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016), as well as Sex and the City 2.
A native of Wheeling, W.Va., Corbett has been in a relationship with actress Bo Derek since 2002, after the pair met on a blind date. They married 18 years later.
Now, it will be interesting to see if his character finally marries the one played by Parker.
