New York City criminals should be terrified.

As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the details of his role were not revealed in any detail other than to suggest he is headed onto the beat.

Brooks has actually already appeared inside the franchise as he had a small role in a 2011 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit called “Personal Fouls.” He most recently played James Olsen in The CW’s Supergirl, and has also played in Necessary Roughness, True Blood, My Generation, The Game, and Desperate Housewives.

He also took on the role of Jax in the most recent Mortal Kombat movie.

Anderson and Sam Waterston had only signed one-year deals to return for Season 21, and while Anderson decided to leave, Waterston has agreed to return.

Anderson, or course, played Det. Kevin Bernard while Waterston returned to the role of Jack McCoy.

Brooks will be join Donovan, who plays Det. Frank Cosgrove, as well as Camryn Manheim, who stars as Lt. Kate Dixon, on the “Law” side.

Naturally, the “Order” group will be rounded out by Waterston, Hugh Dancy as Executive A.D.A. Nolan Price, and Odelya Halevi as A.D.A. Samantha Maroun.
