Hargitay, 58, and Meloni, 61, are the two actors most closely associated with the show. In the Law & Order: SVU universe, the two served together as partners for 13 years.

Apparently, someone thinks their relationship goes even further.

Christopher Meloni’s Wikipedia page briefly listed Hargitay as his “second wife” last week, according to People.

In reality, Meloni has one wife, Doris Sherman Meloni. They married in 1995. For her part, Hargitay married her husband, Peter Hermann, in 2004.

People noted that Hargitay and Meloni met on the set of Law & Order: SVU.

Mariska Hargitay — who returns to the police procedurallater this year — reportedly responded positively to the association, even if it went too far.

“That is awesome,” Hargitay told People about the mix-up. “It’s kind of right in a way, isn’t it?”

Hargitay reportedly elaborated: “I mean, I don’t think I’ll be marrying him any time soon, but I am kind of like his second wife. Wife, therapist, bestie, sister, mother.”

Meloni added that “the fandom goes nuts” over him and Hargitay together onscreen, People said.

“I think the uber fans literally want our spouses to go away,” he reportedly joked.

Meloni and Hargitay might have brought the mix-up upon themselves. Last week, the two teased a possible romance between their characters when they presented the Emmy Award for best lead actor in a comedy series.

The bit came together quickly, People said.

“It’s effortless, and it’s weird, and I always look at it as some sort of gift,” Hargitay said. “So much of it has to do with our shared sense of humor, shared perspective, our now history.”

Also, Hargitay reportedly called Meloni her “best friend.”

“We’re very lucky,” Meloni added.

As People mentions, Hargitay and Meloni will share the screen again on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in a three-hour crossover event tying together Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Organized Crime.
