Page Six got ahold of police records that provided details of the encounter. Lachey was charged with assault and battery against Jody Santos in March of last year. No formal punishment was handed down until after Santos harrassed to Beverly Hills Police Department to file charges.
“He has to complete [anger management and AA] within a reasonable time, which is like a year or so. If he fails to do so, they will move forward to prosecute him with noncompliance and he will get arrested,” Santos told Daily Mail.
The photographer recounted the incident to the publication. She spotted Nick and his wife, reality show co-host, Vanessa, leaving a restaurant. When she began to photograph their private moment, Nick spotted her and made his way over to the vehicle where she was loitering.

“In all my years of photographing celebrities, no one has ever tried to hit me,” Santos recalled. She tried to roll up her window.
“He then started punching the window. I thought he was going to break his hand; that’s how hard he was hitting the glass. I am surprised he didn’t shatter the window.”
The photographer believes that he would’ve “knocked her out.”
She wanted to see Lachey punished, which is when she began to incessantly call the local police department, pressing them to file charges.
“Finally they called me back and said, ‘No, he’s not getting preferential treatment’ and explained that they have a program with the courts where they don’t let misdemeanors just walk; they have to attend anger management classes and AA meetings,” she explained.
