On January 27, 1993, the wrestling world lost a legend when the larger-than-life Andre the Giant passed away in his sleep from a congestive heart failure at the age of 46.

Whether it’s his feud with Hulk Hogan or his Piper’s pit with the late Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre served as a staple during what would become known as a golden age of wrestling and was a profound influence on the generations of wrestling that we see today.

In a tribute to The Eighth Wonder of the World, we’ve pulled together some of the most memorable matches and appearances from Andre’s career.
