Just like Kevin Costner in Yellowstone, the upcoming prequel series is lining up the stars.

In case you missed it, both Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are set to star in 1923. Which of course is set ahead of the modern show. Along with Ford and Mirren, per TV Line, the cast will also include Robert Patrick of Terminator fame.

Patrick will play Sheriff William MacDowell, a friend to the Duttons, the show’s central figures.

1923 is continuing the story from the previously released 1883. Ford is portraying Jacob Dutton and Mirren portrays his wife, Cara Dutton.

Per the show’s description:

1923 focuses on the Dutton family’s next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled beneath the cloud of Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by almost a decade.”

Just like the other shows in the story, 1923 will be carried by Paramount+. This one will be released in December, so we’re now just a few months away.

And here’s an interesting fact — it was originally set to be called 1932, but changed relatively late in the game, reflecting the prohibition era and Great Depression in Montana, where the Duttons call home.

If it’s anywhere near as good as Yellowstone with Costner or 1883 with Tim McGraw, fans of the neo-Western will likely continue to gobble it up.

Yellowstone was created by created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson and debuted in June 2018.

  1. Normal people wouldn’t conceive this for a cast. I’m glad its somebody else job. If you not watching ANYTHING concerned with Yellowstone, you are missing the boat.
