There are few roles Ryan Reynolds is unwilling to take a stab at. Though there’s no telling if he uses a knife in his latest film.

All we really seem to know is that Reynolds will star in the new rendition of Clue. Yes, the movie is inspired by the whodunnit board game. It’s also a remake of the 1985 hit of the same name.

Unfortunatly it suffered at the box office but gained a cult following that remains near and dear to fans’ hearts. 37 years later, might I add. It starred the likes of Eileen Brennan as Mrs. Peacock, Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White, Christopher Lloyd as Professor Plum, Michael McKean as Mr. Green, Christopher Lloyd as Professor Plum, Martin Mull as Colonel Mustard, Lesley Ann Warren as Miss Scarlet, and Tim Curry as Wadsworth the butler.

1985 Clue

This one will have Reynolds and include writer Oren Uziel, per Deadline. Uziel is most recently known for his work on The Lost City, starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.

As for the new Clue, again, Reynolds is the only known cast member. Which character he’ll portray, at this point, is anyone’s guess. Though odds are, someone will get killed with a candlestick. Or maybe a lead pipe. Or maybe a rope or a wrench.

Deadline also forwarded this bit of information for the die-hard movie crowd:

The first draft of the Ryan Reynolds movie based on Hasbro’s popular whodunnit game was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. James Bobin is attached to direct the live-action pic, which hails from 20th Century, eOne and Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort Productions.

So Reynolds has a big hand in the flick than just a starring role. But for now, we have no clue when it will be released.
