Shania Twain is telling it — and showing it — like it is.

The bestselling female country musician of all time recently explained her decision to pose topless for the artwork accompanying her recent single, “Waking Up Dreaming.”
“This is me expressing my truth,” the 57-year-old artist told People in an interview published Wednesday. “I’m comfortable in my own skin, and this is the way I am sharing that confidence.”
Shania Twain further elaborated: “I think the best fashion is confidence, and whatever you wear — if you’re wearing it with that, it’s fashionable. I am a woman in my late 50s, and I don’t need to hide behind the clothes. [It felt so good] to do nude shooting. I was just so unashamed of my new body, you know, as a woman that is well into my menopause. I’m not even emotional about it; I just feel okay about it. It’s really liberating.”

The outspoken singer is on a particularly honest streak as of late. In the same interview, she no words about her ex-husband, Robert John “Mutt” Lange. Shania Twain plainly said about her ex: “I just don’t need him.”
Shania Twain, 57, is currently married to Frédéric Thiébaud, 52. They tied the knot in 2011, just a year after she and Lange divorced.
According to People.com, Twain told the magazine that, due at least in part to her second husband, she now has “a wonderful life.”
“It’s like a renaissance period for me. To be experiencing it as a relevant artist still, that’s rewarding,” Twain stated. “I feel a renewed confidence. I don’t have anything to prove anymore, and I feel freedom in that.”
Twain isn’t the only entertainment superstar who blasted body-shaming this week. Actress Kate Winslet recently revealed that she endured body-shaming during the period surrounding Titanic, one of the biggest movies ever.
