Stephen King’s ‘The Boogeyman’ First Trailer Is Terrifying

Calling all horror movie fans, we’ve got another good one coming. The first trailer for The BoogeyMan is officially here, and it’s safe to say I already have nightmares. After the tragic death of their mother, Sadie (Sophie Thatcher) and her little sister Sawyer (Vivien Lyra Blair) find themselves fighting off quite a number of sadistic creatures in their home that seem to come out at night.

When a patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he then leaves behind a terrifying Supernatural entity that prays off the families of the suffering victims. Before it’s too late, the sisters must get the attention of their absent grieving father, portrayed by Chris Messina.

The long-awaited film is directed by Rob Savage from an adapted screenplay that was penned by A Quiet Place duo, Bryan Woods and Scott Beck. The cast includes Marin Ireland, Madison Hu, David Dstmalchian, and LisaGay Hamilton.

The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman, a short story created by Stephen King, was originally published in 1973 in the magazine Cavalier before it was once again published in King’s short fiction collection, The NightShift. The story’s premise differs quite a bit from Savage’s adaptation, but don’t worry there will be no spoilers here.

It was first adapted into a short film back in 1982 by Jeff Schiro but there haven’t been any other direct adaptations attempted. Although the premise has been loosely borrowed by several other horror movies throughout the years.

The film is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023, and we are eagerly waiting to scare our butts off. If there’s anything we love, it’s horror movies that really give us goosebumps, and make a sleep with a night light for a good week or so. At least that’s my opinion, bring on the horror.
