‘The Wire’ and ‘John Wick’ Star Lance Reddick Dead at 60

According to TMZ, actor Lance Reddick has passed away at the age of 60. Reddick was well-known for his performances in TV series such as The Wire and in the John Wick movies. His body was discovered at his Studio City residence on Friday morning, but the official cause of death hasn’t been disclosed. Law enforcement sources did tell TMZ that they believe it to be natural.

Before his death, Reddick had been involved in a press tour for the upcoming fourth installment of the John Wick franchise, in which he plays Charon. He had been scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show in order to discuss the movie next week.

On social media, Reddick recently shared a video of himself spending time with his dogs, around the time he was supposed to attend the New York City premiere of John Wick 4. The reason as to why he was absent from the event hasn’t been revealed.

Before his role in the Wick franchise, Reddick was most recognized for his portrayal of Cedrick Daniels, who is a fictional officer in the Baltimore Police Department in the HBO hit series The Wire. His character appeared throughout all five seasons of the popular show.

Reddick also had recurring roles in several other popular TV series, including Fringe, Bosch, Oz, and Lost. Beyond his TV success, he appeared in movies such as Angel Has Fallen and Godzilla Vs. Kong.

Additionally, Reddick has some unreleased projects in the works, including his portrayal of the Greek god Zeus in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Born and raised in Baltimore, Reddick earned a degree in music from the University of Rochester and went on to receive his MFA from Yale.
