Twenty-four-year-old singer Angie Keilhauer wowed all four judges on “The Voice” this week with a gritty take on a Dierks Bentley song that has become a modern country classic.
Keilhauer’s performance of “I Hold On,” off Bentley’s 2014 album “Riser,” seemed to grow more powerful with each verse, something that the judges clearly took notice of.
“There’s something very undisciplined about how you performed,” Shelton told Keilhauer.
“You are wild! […] And to have a girl take that approach in country music, it’s about damn time it happens!”
Though she could pick any mentor she wanted, Keilhauer ultimately picked Blake Shelton as her coach.
