Emily Ratajkowski’s Rapid Stardom Sparked a Pattern of Dating Men to Keep Creeps Away
Emily Ratajkowski was signed on by Ford Models at the age of 14 after moving from London, England, to Encinitas, California. After posing nude on the cover of the niche art magazine Treats!, she was asked to be in the music video for “Blurred Lines” by Pharrell Williams, T.I., and Robin Thicke. The 2013 music video shot her to fame, and she’s been an icon ever since.
Between nearly 30 million Instagram followers, a memoir and podcast that subvert the patriarchy in a subtle and relatable way, her tireless activism, and her looks, EmRata is recognized everywhere she goes. Wonderful, no doubt. But Ratajkowski has said that all the attention also made her feel somewhat vulnerable. And for that reason, she’s almost always had a man by her side.
“I can tell you that I have never been single before,” Ratajkowski told Harper’s BAZAAR in October 2022. With all the predators in the modeling and entertainment industries, Ratajkowski saw her continuous stream of boyfriends as protectors. But she also wasn’t very choosy, which she says was due to insecurity.
EmRata Is Now Single and Ready to Mingle
“To use the TikTok phrase, I was a bit of a ‘pick-me girl’ in the sense that I wasn’t very good at deciding what I liked,” EmRata told Harper’s. “I really wanted to be chosen. It was hard for me to go on a date with someone and think about how much I did or didn’t like them. I would have been thinking about how they were perceiving me, what it meant, what they wanted from me, what it meant about my self-worth.”
She added that that’s all changed now that she’s been married, divorced, had a kid, and is single again. “So now it’s really fun to go to dinner with someone and be like, ‘Cool. I really enjoyed these parts of them. I really didn’t like these other parts.’ ” On that note, at the time of her Harper’s interview, Ratajkowski wasn’t on dating apps. But she later opened up to her fans on the High Low podcast and talked about fully immersing herself in that part of the dating scene.
That said, here are all the men Emily Ratajkowski has been romantically linked to before and after her divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard. Keep in mind that there are essentially two different EmRata’s on this list, the one from the Fall of 2022 to present being a newly independent woman who isn’t afraid to pick and choose.
Andrew Dryden
Emily Ratajkowski’s dating life first came under the spotlight in 2013 when she rose to fame. Her first beau was Andrew Dryden, a menswear buyer and art director based in Los Angeles. There isn’t much known about the two as a couple other than that they were spotted together on several occasions. They split in February 2014. When Page Six reached out to Dryden to ask what happened, he responded, “Sorry, I don’t want to talk about it.” EmRata gave no answer.
Jeff Magid
From December 2014 to January 2018, Emily Ratajkowski was reportedly dating Jeff Magid. Magid is a musician and music producer. According to The Sun, Magid drove EmRata around in a “battered black car with a filthy interior” despite the fact that they were getting some of the most expensive sushi in the world. EmRata moved out later that year and was shortly after spotted with a new man. That new man was movie producer Sebastian Bear-McClard.
Emily Ratajkowski Married Sebastian Bear-McClard
Emily Ratajkowski and the music producer were first spotted together on Valentine’s Day in February of 2018. They got married two weeks later in a courthouse in New York. 6 weeks after they tied the knot, EmRata told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Bear-McClard had proposed to her at a restaurant and without a ring. He made an impromptu ring out of a paper clip and then later they walked through Chinatown to buy an ounce of gold. Then Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard eventually melted down the gold and smelt their own wedding rings.
By October 2020, Emily Ratajkowski was expecting her first (and only) child. She broke the news to Vogue, at which point she had a very cute and obvious baby bump. Her son, Sylvester Apollo Bear (aka Sly) was born on March 8, 2021. She called it “the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life.”
They Divorced Shortly After Having a Son
While Emily Ratajkowski has been obviously thriving as a momma with her beautiful little boy throughout his entire existence, things didn’t go quite as well with her husband. After rumors spread that Sebastian had cheated on her, EmRata filed for divorce in September 2022. The shakeup was unfortunate but also may have helped Ratajkowski grow in some ways, at least as a fully independent person who is aware of what they want.
“I feel all the emotions. I feel anger, sadness. I feel excitement. I feel joy. I feel levity,” Ratajkowski told Harper’s just one month after the divorce. “Every day is different. The only good thing I know is that I’m feeling all those things, which is nice because it makes me believe that I’ll be OK.”
That fall marked a pivotal point in the multihyphenate’s life. She launched her High Low with EmRata podcast the following month and has been candid about casual dating.
Brad Pitt
Just weeks after filing for divorce, Emily Ratajkowski was spotted hanging out with actor Brad Pitt. A source told Us Weekly that it was very casual, so it’s not clear if it was anything but platonic. “Brad and Emily have been hanging out as friends,” said the insider. “But they like each other and are excited to see where things go.” However, they stopped hanging out within weeks, sometime in October 2022.
Orazio Rispo
Ratajkowski was seen kissing DJ Orazio Rispo one night in mid-October. The two went out to dinner in New York City and Rispo drove her there on his motorcycle. Rispo was seen again outside EmRata’s apartment in late November.
Pete Davidson
In November 2022, Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski sparked a flurry of gossip when they were seen together at an NBA game in Madison Square Garden. An insider told Us Weekly that the pair had “been talking for a couple months” and were “in the very early stages, but both really like each other.” The Saturday Night Live star has a history of making women think he’s charming as well as being a serial dater.. and living in his mom’s basement.
Regardless, EmRata and Davidson called it quits by the end of the year. She subtly referenced him — and possibly other previous guys — in a January podcast episode. “I feel like I attract the worst men,” she said. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘f**ked’, because I want a confident man.”
Jack Greer
EmRata was photographed kissing New York artist Jack Greer shortly before Christmas. Not much else is known about their interactions. At the time, Ratajkowski was officially using dating apps. It was also within a day or two of DJ Orazio Rispo being spotted arriving at her apartment.
Eric André
EmRata and comedian Eric André were first seen together in early January getting cozy with each other in Manhattan. The pair went out for Japanese food and appeared to be having a good time. By late January, they were seen packing on PDA on vacation in the Cayman Islands.
They went Instagram official on Valentine’s Day this year. André posted two photos to Instagram in which you can spot Ratajkowski taking the pics via a mirror. They appear to be at EmRata’s New York apartment and André is posing nude on the couch (with an emoji covering up his lap). Meanwhile, EmRata appears to be nude from the waist down and wearing a red bra. Both appear to be having a good time and being silly, and they’ve seemed to be smiling and laughing whenever photographed out and about.
