In fact, he has been secretly dating Portuguese actress Alba Baptista for over a year. Meet the lucky and talented lady who gets to call Chris Evans her man.

Chris Evans: Actor, People’s Sexiest Man Alive
Chris Evans was born June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. His father was a dentist, and his mother was the artistic director at the Concord Youth Theatre. Hence, Evans had very early exposure to the world of acting. He attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City prior to graduating from High School in 1999.
Chris Evans told Backstage that his whole family was involved in community theatre growing up. Watching performances by his older sister, Carly, was one of his biggest inspirations. He was in community theatre plays year-round. While in high school, Evans was in an educational film about biodiversity (watch it here). He was only 15 years old at the time. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film.
Soon after moving to LA, Chris Evans was cast as Cary Baston in the TV series Opposite Sex. His first Hollywood film was Newcomers, that same year. It wouldn’t be long before he became one of the world’s most renowned actors. He has starred as Captain America in the Marvel franchise, Avengers movies, Ant-Man, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. He’s also been in the Fantastic Four, played the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Lightyear, and has executive produced Playing It Cool and TV miniseries Defending Jacob. All said, Chris Evans has 59 acting credits under his belt and many more to come. Notably, People named him Sexiest Man Alive in November 2022 — a title that the actor said would make his mom happy.
Alba Baptista: Multilingual Breakout Star
Alba Baptista was born July 10, 1997, making her almost exactly 14 years younger than Chris Evans. She also shares the same sun sign as him, both being Cancerians. Alba’s mother was a translator from Portugal and her father was an engineer from Brazil. Alba can speak five languages: Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, and French.
Alba made her acting debut in her native country of Portugal. She was in over 2 dozen films and TV shows beginning in 2012 before she made her English debut. She starred in the Netflix series Warrior Nun from 2020 to 2022. IMDb named her one of 2020’s top breakout stars for her role in Warrior Nun. In 2022, Alba also played Natasha in the English-language film Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
Chris Evans and Alba Baptista’s (Secret) Relationship
Much of the world was shocked this past November when news spread that Chris Evans had been in a serious relationship for over a year. In July 2022, he told Shondaland that finding a life partner was a priority of his. Asked if there was anything in his life that he was “laser-focused on,” this is the response he gave:
“[I’m] maybe laser-focused on finding a partner, someone you want to live … it’s great what I do, and I pour myself all into it, but even this industry is filled with pockets of doubt, hesitation and recalibration,” he said. “In terms of really trying to find something that you really pour all yourself into, maybe it’s about trying to find someone you’re looking to spend your life with.”
Fast-forward to November 2022, and People revealed that an inside source promised Chris Evans was in a “serious” relationship that had started over a year ago.
The source said that Chris Evans and Alba Baptista had been dating “for over a year and it’s serious.” They also added that Chris and Alba “are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”
Evans had previously told People that he had a dream of settling down with the right woman and having children someday.
“That’s absolutely something I want,” Chris Evans told People. “Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
Will We See More of Chris Evans and Alba Baptista Together?
Seeming as the actor also revealed he was also “very content,” it isn’t too far-fetched to guess that he and Alba could be madly in love and thinking about taking things to the next level.
Just hours after People broke the news about Chris Evans and Alba Baptista’s relationship, Page Six further added to the gossip. The publication released a video of Evans and Baptista leaving a gated building and strolling through Central Park together.
While neither Chris Evans nor Alba Baptista have posted any photos of each other to their Instagram timelines, there have been alleged mention of their relationship in their Stories. The Daily Tribune tagged Alba Baptista in this post, showing a screenshot of the two lovebirds playing around. The caption mentions that it was originally posted to Evans’ Instagram Stories.
It seems like we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of this beautiful couple together in the future.
