Will Smith had quite a valid excuse for not watching Chris Rock’s recent Netflix special, which featured the 58-year-old comedian making jabs at Smith’s involvement in the Oscars scandal. In the special, Rock accused Smith of “practicing selective outrage” and also touched on rumors of infidelity surrounding Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, among other controversial subjects.

“Will is embarrassed and hurt by what Chris said about him and his family in his Netflix special. He didn’t watch it, but he had people tell him what Chris said,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s everywhere when you look online and on social media, so Will and Jada have seen comments about it.”

Chris Rock Ready to ‘Move On’ From Will Smith Drama

Following the incident at the Oscars, Smith uploaded a heartfelt video on YouTube apologizing to Rock for the altercation on stage. This apology came after Smith had already issued a written statement on Instagram the day after the Academy Awards. A source revealed that Smith has asked Rock to move on from the issue, given that he has served a 10-year ban from the Oscars. The source also disclosed that Smith is angry with Netflix for providing Rock with a platform to air his views.

“Will is also upset that Netflix was a part of this and thinks Chris insulting Jada again is below the belt,” the source went on to add. “He is upset that Netflix gave Chris this platform to share these messages and thinks it’s distasteful.”

Will Smith’s Apology

According to another source, Rock is ready to move on now that he’s addressed the Oscar slap for the first time. “He said everything he wanted to say,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “It was funny, self-deprecating, and thought-provoking. Now, “Chris is ready to move on.”

Rock performed his comedy special “Selective Outrage” in Baltimore, Maryland, which happens to be the hometown of Jada Pinkett Smith. During the show, Rock touched on several subjects, including “woke culture,” the Oscars incident involving Smith, and Meghan Markle’s allegations of racism within the British royal family.

  1. A “heartfelt video” and “apology” which came DAYS after it should have; it was NOT immediate. And, it sounded exactly like what a PR person and a lawyer would have written for him. No, Rock has every right to say whatever he wants from now until whenever he chooses to stop. What Smith did was ridiculous after he had been laughing at the jokes just seconds before. Shame on the Smiths for even “leaking” these reactions to the press. Just be quiet. You already spoke with violence. Rock gets to respond with words now.

  2. Why is Will so upset when him and Jada aired their dirty laundry on the Red table talk show for the world to see and hear??? I don’t get it??? You told this mess and discussed it first!!

  3. As far as a lot of us….. He shoulda put him on the floor!! How dare he (Chris Rock) mock and be very disrespectful to a lady who suffers from a condition that brrings a lot of emotional with it!!! SHAME ON YOU. It’s the same as poking fun at an amputee ! You couldn’t understand unless you’ve been there……. REALLY????

    • That’s crap.
If Jada was so upset about her bald head, she would’ve worn a cute wig to the Oscar’s.
No one would’ve thought anything of it.

But she parades her bald head around, then gets sensitive if if someone notices??
      Ridiculous!

    • He should have spoken to Will after the show. I used to really like Will Smith but after that behaviour I’m afraid I no longer have any time for him. Chris Rock should have had him charged with GBH

      • I no longer like Chris Rock. While you are laughing it up about the joke he made about Jada, remember that we have white racist comedian. You are giving them a platform. It’s okay as long as it is funny. Black women in general have suffered discrimination and isolation because of our hair. I believed that Chris didn’t mean the joke the way it sounded, but now after his Netflix stand up, I know he did. Chris is a mean person.

    • Did you just compare losing hair to losing a limb? That might be the most shallow, misinformed, brain dead thing I have ever heard. A small knock on your ego isn’t the same as a life altering loss. Way to show your utter lack of sense.

      • Why is there a place to reply to Adam Ckark, but not to Stephanie Perryman? No problem. I’m voicing my opinion on what Perryman said on Adam Clark thread.

I completely agree with you Stephanie Perryman. Will reacted badly in the moment and we get that. The dude is under a lot of emotional pressure, because it’s plain to me now that Jada doesn’t love Will. I’ve been down for Will and Jada for years. But I started watching her manurism around her husband. There is no love there. However comma, shez Will’s choice and he wants to stay with his wife.

On the other hand, Chris was calculating and vicious. He tore Will down, and I don’t like Chris anymore. What is unthinkable to me is he introduced his mother as being in the audience then proceeded to spill filth and horrible words about everything in the presence of his mother. Im certain she wasn’t sitting there with her chest out, saying that’s my boy. I dislike the special mostly because of his mother’s presence and the way he drug for the Smiths.

    • If jada has alopecia, why is her whole head covered with hair growth. I had a run in with alopecia. Parts of my scalp was as bald and smooth as a baby’s butt! I don’t she has the ailment

      • That is true. I have Alopecia and I get round circular patches. Even if you shave your head completely you can still see the smooth patches.

    • I have alopecia and as such person with the condition you really sound like an idiot! How dare you compare us to an amputee!? If I go slapping everybody that makes wise cracks of my leopard print patchy head I’d be in jail but because of who will Smith is he gets a pass! Him and his promiscuous wife got away easy.

    • No, he should have put his morally bankrupt, adulterous wife on the floor, or at the very least shown her the door a long time ago. You want to know what’s really disrepectful, moron? How about inviting your husband onto your podcast and then telling him about the men you’ve been unfaithful with….including a friend of your teenage son. Oh, Jada’s suffering from something alright, a lack of morals, integrity, character, and a conscience. As for you comparing her hair loss to losing a limb…that’s just you being a clueless idiot.

    • BULLSHIT‼️ She has a condition. Lots of people are sick. She shaved her head for attention. She could afford the best wig on the market, had one designer made. She was looking for sympathy. She plays the “VICTIM” Really Well‼️ Even Will knew it was a joke. He laughed UNTIL Drama Queen Jada looked at him all crazy. She knew he would embarrass himself. She has been Publicly Humiliating Will for YEARS‼️ She has done Nothing But Sabotage His Career For Years‼️ JADA IS A JEALOUS, SELF-CENTERED, MANIPULATIVE, CALCULATING, DRAMA QUEEN THAT LOVES TO PLAY THE VICTIM BECAUSE HER “WANT TO BE” ACTING CAREER WAS SUCH A FLOP‼️

  4. Suck it up Smith, you coward! His “apology” was barely that, not immediate nor sincere. You shouldn’t be defending the big baby. And you go Chris Rock! Tell it like it is, as you always have done.

  5. After this special I believe Chris Rock will move forward and NOT mention it again. How dare ANYONE put their hands on someone who has NOT put their hands on you??? NO ONE has that right regardless of who or what they (think) they are!PERIOD. As far as Will being angry at NETFLIX….NETFLIX is laughing all the way to the bank! That “platform” paid the hel* off….for them and for Chris Rock! Money is ALWAYS the bottom line……sad but true!

  6. You can control your behaviors. You can’t control the consequences. If Rock wants, he can brutalize Will for years. Will humiliated Rock for a moment. Rock could return the favor for years. Those are the consequences. Control yourself and avoid negative consequences.

  7. Why is it necessary to use weasel words like “rumors of infidelity surrounding Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith?” Wasn’t she incredibly open about it and practically rubbed Will’s face in it?

    • I bet if it were Dave Chappell or anyone the same size as Smith. Will would have sat his ass in the seat and chuckled like everyone else. You be for real. Size does matter. Will is a Hollywood action fighter.

    • Will wasn’t really upset with Rock. He just took out his frustrations on Rock becaue he was an easy target. In actual fact, Smith should have taken out his frustration on his cheating whore of a wife whose been throwing in his face for years the fact she’s been cheating on him. I’m guessing he was thrilled when he learned she was shagging a friend of her teenage son. How’s that for being real, princess?

  8. Jada Pinkett Smith is disrespectful to herself. Chris Rock told a mild joke at the Oscar’s about Jada and trust me he could have gone in hard if he wanted to but he didn’t. Jada is no damsel in distress, she is calculating and she is sneaky. Chris said nothing wrong. As far as Jada having alopecia, she can wear a wig like she has done many times.

  9. Will Smith I had to explain to my son why you acted the way you did. How dare you play a victim when you, you and only you did that horrendous action on live TV in front of the entire world. What were you thinking? That was childish behavior and I am sorry for you and your family. satan really fooled you.

  10. F will and jawbone. They are parasites raising intitled imbeciles .With the exception of his first son the whole family is garbage, rich black trash. No excuse for tha disgusting tiny little boy Billy biatch

  11. Every action dictates a reaction.

Will’s action was slapping a man who knew nothing about this wife’s medical condition.

    Chris’ reaction Netflix special

    Whose right, whose wrong 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • You bring a good point.
First I disagree with your suggestion that a “Every action dictates a reaction.”
I’m glad Chris didn’t react because now the whole world is calling a ban on black guys hosting awards. Also, Rock showed restraint put Smith in a terrible spot. Chris gained a public and financial platform. Netflix? The people love him. Hollywood hates bullying.

      • All Hollywood see is green. Will is a much bigger of green than Chris. They don’t give a damn about Will, Jada or Chris. Just us….the ones who can’t out Will Smit or Jada in a movie, or Chris Rock on a stage. Everyone involved in any production of these people made money off that slap. You got your draws all tight for nothing.

  12. Will was a loved figure, but people now know he is not the paragon he pretended to be. He is under a weird spell with his wife, but in the end he is a spoiled rich entertainer that always thinks he is in the right.

  13. I have ZERO INTEREST/RESPECT for Will Smith, Jada, or any other off spring they may concieve, or projects they produce. It was a joke and Smith should have handled it better. Two black men. Mentors. Leaders in a tough industry. Examples for our society. Fighting in front of the world was not proper.
Will Smith was out of line! Period!

  14. People trust this! The ONLY REASON Smith went on stage and slapped Rock is because Rock is much smaller. I guarantee if it were Mike Epps or Chris Tucker, Will Smith would have never left that seat.
Will would be laughing with all the other Hollywood fakes. No one knew about her condition.

  15. Smith hasn’t served 10 years away from the awards. He hasn’t even served one yet, has he? Regardless, you make it sound like this happened in 2012, not 2022.

  16. First of all, the joke that Chris made about GI Jane should have been taken as a financiail gain of an idea instead of an insult (a Black GI Jane)!!. She’s an actress; run with it & make money. Instead her husband makes an azz of himself on a world wide televised event, after first laughing at the joke himself. Will apologized first to the “event”, the apology to Chris came a day or two later. Chris took it all in stride, did not react on the spur of the moment. He took his time and processed the situation and waited for the right opportunity and made his best move. He made millions and let the world know how he truly felt about that whole situation. Check Mate!!!

  17. All Hollywood see is green.
