‘Yellowstone’ Cast: Who Has the Highest Net Worth?

Yellowstone is about to kick off its fifth season, much to the joy of fans. And to the joy of its cast members, we assume, as well. Luke Grimes once called it a “dream job.” He called the script one of the best he’s read and said “I’m thrilled, couldn’t be happier” about the locations where they shoot. But what about the money, honey? Yeah, that’s pretty good, too. Let’s take a look at the net worth of the Yellowstone cast and see who makes the most.

Luke Grimes

Grimes plays Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone. Prior to playing Kayce on our favorite Western, Grimes was best known for his starring roles in films like American Sniper (Marc Lee) and Fifty Shades of Grey (Elliott Grey). He also played Teddy Q in The Magnificent Seven and James in the True Blood TV series. He’s been on the Hollywood scene since 2006.

Last year, reports were estimating Grimes’ net worth to be around $500,000 but that number has definitely gone up. Cinema Blend estimated that Grimes made about $200,000 per episode during the filming of Yellowstone season 3. Season 5 just finished filming, too, so it’s possible that his salary has increased. These days, Grimes is estimated to be worth about $2 million.

Kelsey Asbille Chow

Kelsey Asbille Chow, better known as Kelsey Asbille, plays the gorgeous Monica Dutton. Monica marries into the Dutton family when she falls in love with Kayce. Asbille’s career really took off when she landed her role on Yellowstone. Prior to the series, she mostly appeared in a variety of TV shows, usually as herself. She also played Swanee Capps on the show Fargo and the voice of Rebecca in the podcast series Gaslight.

Asbille’s character, like Dutton’s character, is estimated to bring in $200,000 per episode for the actress. Again, though, that was for season 3. Today, Asbille is estimated to be worth about $3 million.

Wes Bentley

Wes Bentley plays Jamie Dutton, Kayce’s brother. Bentley has been making movies since he was a teenager back in 1995, starting with his role as Lonnie in the short Serendipity Lane. He’s starred in blockbuster hits like The Hunger Games (Seneca Crane), American Beauty (Ricky Fitts), and multiple seasons of American Horror Story (various characters).

As Jamie, Bentley pulls in about the same amount as co-stars Chow and Grimes. Wes Bentley’s estimated net worth is about $3 million.

Forrie J. Smith

Forrie J. Smith is an actor and stuntman. On Yellowstone, he plays Dutton Ranch’s ranch hand Lloyd Pierce. Smith has been making films since the 80s when he played Harley in the TV movie Desperado and then did stunts for Rambo III. Smith has done a lot of Westerns, probably he just has that “look” and can play the part well (he’s from Helena, Montana and knows how to ride horses).

According to The Sun, Smith makes about $400,000 per episode of Yellowstone, doubling the salary of everyone listed above. Forrie Smith’s estimated net worth today is about $6 million.

Kelly Reilly

Kelly Reilly plays Beth Dutton, John Dutton’s daughter and the sister to Jaime and Kayce. Beth starts playing hard in season 5 when she goes on a mission to psychologically destroy her father’s new love, Summer Higgins.

Reilly has been in the Hollywood scene since the 90s and has over 50 acting credits to her name. One of those roles was as Dr. Catherine Black in the series Black Box, which Reilly also produced. She has two forthcoming projects for 2023 apart from Yellowstone (if it continues on). Those are A Haunting in Venice and Here.

Reilly’s estimated salary for Yellowstone is actually in the lower range alongside co-stars Grimes, Chow, and Bentley. But her estimated net worth these days is much higher and is anywhere between $5 million and $10 million.

Cole Hauser

Cole Hauser plays ranch hand Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone. Hauser has starred in a long list of films including the highly acclaimed Good Will Hunting (Billy), 2 Fast 2 Furious (Carter Verone), and the beloved classic Dazed and Confused (Benny). He’s the great-grandson of Harry M. Warner from Warner Bros and he comes from a line of Hollywood screenwriters and producers.

Cole Hauser’s salary for Yellowstone is right around most of the people listed already, at about $200,000 per episode. However, partly from his career in acting, and partly from inherited wealth, Hauser’s estimated net worth today sits at $8 million.

Gil Birmingham

Gil Birmingham plays Chief Thomas Rainwater and chairman of the Confederated Tribes of Broken Rock on Yellowstone. He’s been acting in Hollywood since the 80s and has 65 credits to his name. Birmingham played Billy Black in the Twilight saga, Daniel Lanagin in House of Cards, and Navy Captain Steven Douglas in NCIS: LA.

It’s not clear how much Birmingham makes per episode of Yellowstone, but his estimated net worth will knock your socks off. It seems that all his hard work in the industry has paid off. According to Idol Net Worth, Birmingham is worth about $185 million these days.

Kevin Costner

And the winner is, of course, Kevin Costner. This probably comes as a surprise to no one, as Costner has been in countless cult classics and blockbuster hits like Waterworld, Dances with Wolves, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, The Guardian, and Man of Steel. Costner plays Yellowstone’s main man, patriarch and head of Dutton Ranch, John Dutton.

Costner allegedly makes about $1.3 million per episode, per Variety. His estimated net worth sits at a staggering $300 million these days. Whether or not Costner will get yet another raise for Yellowstone or quit the show, of course, is a point of speculation for many. As we reported earlier, his wife Christine Baumgartner just gave him an ultimatum to quit the show. Stay tuned.
