Kevin Costner’s Wife Christine Baumgartner Is Tired of Yellowstone

According to Radar Online, Christine Baumgartner is stuck at home in Los Angeles. She’s there with their three children while Costner leaves for months at a time in Montana. The routine is getting old and an insider claims that she’s pretty much over it.

“It’s really knocked a hole in their family life,” the insider claimed. “The show is such a mega-hit, producers want it to go on forever!” But the insider is claiming that his wife’s “patience is starting to fray.”

The inside also said that Baumgartner “wants a firm commitment this is his last season — or he might have to hit the dusty trail!”

Kevin Costner plays John Dutton on the hit series Yellowstone, which has been airing since 2018. Dutton is the patriarch and a rancher who decides to run for Governor of Montana.

In June, Costner told Entertainment Tonight that he’s been thinking about the end of Yellowstone. He said that he’d keep playing Dutton until the role is no longer “interesting” to him.

“I’ll go till it doesn’t feel like we’re interesting, and right now we have our foot on the gas and that feels OK to me,” he told ET. “I have interests that are outside of everything I do, including the movies, so I have other things that I want to do.”

He added that, while he didn’t have plans for ending his role, he might call it quits eventually.

“I am going to end if it doesn’t end,” Costner told ET.

Will a Threat From Costner’s Wife Be Enough to Make the Call?

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have been married since 2004. Baumgartner is a businesswoman, former model, and handbag designer. Her handbag line, Cat Bag Couture, was featured on Desperate Housewives.

The couple first met in the 1980s while Costner was working on his film Tin Cup. They were on a golf course and Costner was married to Cindy Silva at the time. The actor and handbag designer met again years later, in 1999. They dated briefly and then took a break in 2003 before getting back together and tying the knot in Aspen, Colorado.

Baumgartner and Costner have two sons, Cayden Wyatt (born 2007) and Hayes Logan (born 2009) as well as a daughter, Grace Avery (born 2010). Their children are in the 12–15-year-old range, which means that Baumgartner is dealing with putting them through school and all the other responsibilities that come with parenting teenagers.

Baumgartner Is a Mom to Three, Stepmom to Four More Kids

In addition to birthing three of Costner’s kids, Baumgartner is also a stepmother to his four other children. He had three children with former wife Cindy (Annie, born 1984; Lily, born 1986, and Joe, born 1988). He also had a son, Liam (born 1996) with his former girlfriend, Bridget Rooney.

The couple also owns a 160-acre luxury ranch in Aspen Colorado. The Radar Online insider doesn’t mention Colorado, but instead says that Baumgartner is staying in Los Angeles. It’s not clear at this point why Baumgartner is in Los Angeles. It could just be for work or for their children’s schooling. Dunbar Ranch is reportedly also available for private rentals when the family of five isn’t staying there — priced at $36,000 a night. It sleeps 27 people and is nestled at the base of Independence Pass, along the Elk Mountain Range and Continental Divide.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Costner and what he’ll decide to do with his role on Yellowstone. Season 5 is set to premiere with a two-hour episode on November 13 on Paramount Network.
