According to the TLC network, the world can never have enough dating shows. At least, that seems to be the theory with the upcoming arrival of MILF Manor. Yes, we now have a dating show centered on eight women between the ages of 40 and 60 who are out to find love.

Actually, at their age, they’ve probably already found love — and on multiple occasions. It just didn’t last.
MILF Manor is putting them back in the game, with the opportunity for the rest of the world to see how it goes. The show, it was announced, will make its debut in January.
Oh, and for the record, the women on the show will be attempting to date men half their age. So perhaps love alone isn’t really what they seek.
But according to TLC, the show is focused on “confident and strong-minded women for the chance to find love at a paradise destination.”

They are also eight women with some big dreams.
“Young men have much more energy. They think out of the box. I want that,” one cast member said in the trailer.
“I’m ready to connect with someone who doesn’t really care how old I am,” another said.
Yeah, well, good luck with that. Men generally prefer younger women. But these eight cougars are going to try nonetheless, and watching them fail and perhaps sometimes succeed, could be the dating-show drama America will want.
The show is indeed a competition, a la The Bachelor, and in each episode the cast will take part in challenges to determine whether their connection is real. If not, whoever fails to court them with youthful good looks and overall boyish charm will get the boot.
So while this is being dubbed as “reality TV,” it’s anything but. A 20- or 30-something male would hardly be bummed about failing to land a woman who’s at least a decade older.
MILF Manor‘s mission is clearly to try to convince you otherwise.
