The disturbing trailer for the three-part Discovery+ series House of Hammer features snippets of interviews with Armie Hammer’s former girlfriends and family members.

The show is set to premiere on September 2. It purports to focus not just on the actor but his lineage as well.

“Debauchery. Deceit. Abuse. Addiction. Corruption,” the Discovery+ description for the trailer states. “Over the course of five generations, the men in the Hammer family have more secrets and scandals than any vault can contain.”

The description continues: “Armie Hammer’s alleged crimes are only the tip of the iceberg. Through a trove of archive and interviews from survivors and family members, the dark and twisted secrets of the Hammer family come to light. Behind the money and power lies a dysfunctional dynasty with its male characters exhibiting all the devastating consequences of privilege gone wild.”

The Allegations Against Armie Hammer

Although Hammer has denied the authenticity of the allegations, the BDSM-themed direct messages at the center of the controversy include disturbing references to fantasies involving cannibalism.

The initial Instagram posts were met with confusion and disbelief. Armie Hammer has denied the authenticity of the screenshots, calling them “bull****.”

Armie Hammer’s great-grandfather emigrated to Los Angeles from Russia. He founded Occidental Petroleum and became an oil tycoon worth more than a billion dollars.

That wealth grew over generations. Furthermore, Armie Hammer’s father is also a noted businessman. He raised his children in the Cayman Islands.

However, a resurfaced tweet by Hammer later cast a dark light on those seemingly ideal circumstances. The now-deleted post reportedly read: “I woke up sound 5 am this morning to my mom pouring oil on my head and praying very loudly in tongues while standing over my bed so she could get the ‘demons out’ of me.”

Armie Hammer married TV personality Elizabeth Chambers in 2010 and they share two young children, Ford Doug and Harper Grace. She filed for divorce in 2020.

Additionally, Page Six reported Wednesday that Armie Hammer has been living in the Cayman Islands since the scandal.
