Paltrow recently reiterated to Today that she’s done with acting, saying she doesn’t miss it whatsoever. From what she said, it sounds like she’s also turned down opportunities to be in films.

“I really don’t miss it at all,” Gwyneth Paltrow said in the interview, which aired on July 24. “I think I’m so lucky that I got to do it, and I’m sure I still will at some point. The team is always trying to get me to do a movie. But I really love what I do. I love how immediate it is. How we’re able to create [Goop] product out of thin air that we believe in so much. That’s so powerful.”

Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow’s comments drove home a similar point about retirement that she made earlier this year. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published January 7 on its website, she said the acting bug never bites her.

“Does she ever feel like the acting bug might come back? “Literally never — nev-er,” she told Bazaar. “When I was acting I really burned myself out. When the flywheel kicked in, I was doing three to five movies a year. I really got to the point where even the little things, like sitting in the van going to set, getting your makeup touch-ups, and everything — I really don’t know that I can bear it.”

Gwyneth Paltrow continued: “The last movie I starred in, I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a movie called Proof, an adaptation of a play I did in London, and I was like, ‘I’ve had it. I can’t do this anymore.’ I had morning sickness and I was dying, and I had these five-page monologues. So when I had her, I knew I was going to take a big chunk of time off. And I’ve never starred in anything again.”

In her newer interview with Today, Paltrow hedged a bit when it comes to acting. She said she actually would return to her former trade — but only for a theatrical performance.

Gwyneth Paltrow explained why: “It’s funny, I don’t daydream about the movie business at all. But sometimes … I did promise my mother, at some point, before I die, I’m going to do a play. I’m going to deliver on that promise at some point.”
