Is Chris Pratt playing Indiana Jones after all? Not likely, according to a recent interview he gave on a podcast about movies.

Rumors circulated last year that Pratt might soon sport the sable fedora that Indiana Jones wears. But the actor said in a July interview that Harrison Ford recently scared him off from ever considering the role.
“All I know is I once saw a quote from Harrison Ford … [that] was enough to scare me,” Chris Pratt said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “[He said something] like, ‘When I die, Indiana Jones dies.’ And I’m like, ‘Am I gonna get haunted by the ghost of Harrison Ford one day when he dies if I play [Indiana Jones]?”
Ford’s actual quote was, “I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone.”
Either way, it seems like both Harrison Ford and Chris Pratt have made their points clear … for now, at least.
Chris Pratt Not Slated For Next Indiana Jones Movie
From all indications, Pratt is not slated to appear in the next Indiana Jones movie and presumably the last to feature Harrison Ford. The cast also includes Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Toby Jones, and Shaunette Renée Wilson — all in yet-undisclosed roles.
Three months ago, Ford gave fans a sneak peek at the latest Indiana Jones movie — and a release date too.
“We have almost completed the next Indiana Jones film, featuring the music of John Williams,” Ford said at the event. “And I had a wonderful experience working with [director] James Mangold, with [producers] Kathy [Kennedy] and Frank [Marshall] again.”
“I’m really proud of the movie that we made,” he added.
Ford said that the early plan for the film is to release on June 30, 2023, setting up a summer blockbuster season.
Meanwhile, Chris Pratt’s latest blockbuster, Jurassic World: Dominion, is still in theaters.
