Mariska Hargitay dropped a big clue about Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s return with a recent post on Instagram. With just a single photo from the behind the scenes of Law & Order: SVU, she knocked fans into the stratosphere.

Mariska Hargitay appeared to confirm the return of Christopher Meloni with the Law & Order: SVU set pic she posted last week. The photo depicts the two actors in her office, bent over her desk and involved in what appears to be a hushed exchange.
The only text that Mariska Hargitay posted along with the photo read: “aaannnnd we’re back!”
Meloni ended his role as Detective Elliot Stabler after 12 seasons on Law & Order: SVU. Nonetheless, he and Hargitay (Captain Olivia Benson) are the two actors most closely associated with the show. In the show’s universe, the two served together as partners for 13 years.
Mariska Hargitay won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2006. She became the first cast member in the Law & Order franchise to win an Emmy.

Also aboard for the upcoming 24th season of Law & Order: SVU is Molly Burnett, who will take on the role of Det. Grace Muncy. She is best known for her previous roles on Days of Our Lives and Queen of the South.
While the recent news surrounding the Law & Order franchise is delighting, they mourned sad news that occurred last month.
A crew member for its Organized Crime spinoff was shot and killed Tuesday while working on the set of the show in New York, according to Forbes.
The 31-year-old man was reportedly in his car, enforcing a parking ban for production of the show. A gunman opened the driver’s car door and shot him multiple times in the face and neck, Forbes said.
Responders then took the man to a hospital, where medical staff confirmed his death.
