Leah Remini is replacing Matthew Morrison as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance. The announcement comes after Morrison’s firing last month due to flirty text messages he allegedly sent to a contestant.

Leah Remini is a seasoned game show host, actress, and Emmy nominee. She is backing up the announcement.
“’I’m thrilled to share the news that I’ll be joining “So You Think You Can Dance” as a judge.” Remini posted to Instagram. “I look forward to guiding these incredibly talented artists as a fan of the show and a great admirer of dancers! I can’t wait to work with @itsjojosiwa, @sir_twitch_alot, and @catdeeley!”
Leah Remini will be joining Jojo Siwa and Stephen “tWitch” Boss just in time for SYTYCD’s 300th episode.
Meanwhile, Matthew Morrison is denouncing the firing and says:
“Gossip is toxic and destroying our society.” He called the allegations untrue via a video on Instagram last week.
“It’s really unfortunate that I have to sit here and defend myself and my family against blatantly untrue statements made anonymously,” he says. “I have nothing to hide, so in the interest in transparency I will read to you the one message that I wrote…”
Morrison shared the text that he sent: “Hey, it’s Matthew. If you don’t mind, I would love to get your number and talk with you [about] some things.”
That’s it, Morrison says. He continues, “I sent this because this stands for my… share of mutual respect for a choreographer that I’ve known for over twenty years, and I was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show. It’s devastating that we live in this world where gossip rules and people’s lives are getting thrown around as click-bait.”
Entertainment Tonight mentions that since the reality show is largely filmed ahead of time, we may continue to see more of Morrison as a judge in the near future. But this isn’t for certain. What we do know is that we can expect to see a new face very soon. Leah Remini will be gracing the judge’s panel for the 300th episode.
So You Think You Can Dance is on Fox on Wednesday nights at 9/8 Central.
