When Sons of Anarchy ended after its 7th season, much of the world was in dismay. Where now would they get their fix of gritty, motorcycle gang crime drama? Further, where would the world get its Shakespearean-influenced motorcycle gang crime drama?

Nicknamed “The Hamlet of Harleys,” Sons of Anarchy was a massive hit. Numerous cast members won TCA, Satellite, and Golden Globe Awards, to name a few. It scored an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and also has 8.6 stars out of 10 on IMDb. But what happened to the fabulous gang, and all its lovers and enemies? Read on to find out where the Sons of Anarchy cast is now.

Charlie Hunnam: Jax Teller

Let’s start with Jax, Sons of Anarchy’s main protagonist, leader, and moral compass of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO).

Charlie Hunnam has been busy working on Shantaram. It’s a 12-episode series produced and starring nonother than Hunnam. Shantaram will be available for streaming Friday, October 14, on Peacock.

Hunnam wanted to make a movie about the best-selling novel, Shantaram, for years, but Warner Brothers initially beat him to the rights. They wanted to make a film adaptation of the story, starring Johnny Depp. But they couldn’t figure out how to fit the entire 900-page story into a feature-length film. So, when Warner Brothers finally gave up, Hunnam jumped on the opportunity to fulfill his dream.

Hunnam keeps his personal life pretty private and accordingly doesn’t use social media. He enjoys organic gardening and has a ranch property with many animals outside of Hollywood. He lives there and runs his ranch with his girlfriend of 17 years, Morgana McNelis.

Dayton Callie: Wayne Unser

Callie played the Chief of the Charming Police Department. Callie went on to play Jeremiah Otto in Fear the Walking Dead in 2016 and 2017. He’s also stayed busy appearing in several movies, most recently the TV movie Deadwood (based on the Deadwood TV series, which he was also in) and a fantasy called Table 13.  The To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! actor has seemed to be laying low, lately. His IMDb doesn’t have any new projects but considering he was born in 1946 and has had a successful career already, we’re guessing he might not mind.

Drea de Matteo: Wendy Case

De Matteo played Jax’s ex-wife and the mother of his oldest son, Abel. She played Adriana La Cerva in The Sopranos, Angie Bolen in Desperate Housewives, and more recently, Maya in Paradise City.

De Matteo recently promoted her new movie, One Way. It’s part I of a two-part thriller movie series, the second named Collide. One Way came out August 31 in theaters and is available for streaming.

De Matteo has two children with her former fiancée, Shooter Jennings. She also has an online store, Gangster Goddess, which she runs with Chris Kushner.

Sagal is primarily known for her role as Peggy Bundy in Married with Children. More recently, she’s played Nora in the TV series Tell Me Lies as well as the voice of Leela in Futurama. She has three children: a son and a daughter with former-husband Jack White, and a daughter with SOA creator Kurt Sutter.

He’s been married to Christina Adshade since 2019 and has two children.

Ron Perlman: Clarence “Clay” Morrow

Clay is Jax’s stepdad and SAMCRO’s president until his death in season 6 episode 11.

Perlman is an icon and had an extensive list of credits and awards under his belt prior to SOA. He’s known for endless roles, all of which he pulls off with a certain style that is all his own. Notable roles include Hellboy in the Hellboy franchise, Scorpion in the 90s Mortal Kombat TV series, Pernell Harris in the Hand of God TV series, and Frank Napier in The Capture TV series.

Perlman was married to Opan Stone from 1981 to 2019 and married again to Allison Dunbar this year. He has two children, one of who is an electronic musician, producer, and DJ in LA.

Ryan Hurst: Harry “Opie” Winston

Opie is Jax’s best childhood friend until season 5 when he is beaten to death by a prison gang.

Hurst made his TV debut in two episodes of Saved by the Bell: The New Class back in 1993. He was in Saving Private Ryan, Patch Adams, Rules of Engagement, and Remember the Titans prior to Sons of Anarchy. Since SOA ended, Hurst has continued his career, playing Li’l Foster Farrell in Outsiders, Beta in The Walking Dead, Oliver in Paradise City, and Terry Luca in S.W.A.T. His most recent project was doing the voice of Thor in the videogame God of War: Ragnarök.

Hurst is a practicing Sikh and goes by the name Gobind Seva Singh. He has been married to Molly Cookson since 2005.

Theo Rossi: Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz

Juice was a hacker for SAMCRO who was excommunicated after having a mental breakdown.

After SOA, Rossi continued his acting career. Roles since SOA include Hernan ‘Shades’ Alvarez in the TV series Luke Cage, Burt Cummings in Army of the Dead, Youcef in Emily the Criminal. He has several yet-to-be-released films in post-production.

Rossi has been married to Meghan McDermott since 2014 and they have two sons together.

Tommy Flanagan: Filip “Chibs” Telford

Chibs is known as “The Scot” and for his warm, fatherlike demeanor towards not just Jax but Juice as well.

Before SOA, Flanagan played Morrison in Braveheart, Cicero in Gladiator, and Scarface in The Saint. Recently he’s played Martin Connells in Westworld in 2020, Jet Rink in There Are No Saints, and Anthony Greene in Code Name Banshee.

Flanagan has been married three times and is currently still with his third wife, Dina Livingston. He was formerly married to casting director Jane Ford from 2007 to 2010, and Rachel Flanagan from 1998 to 2001. He shares one child with his spouse, Dina, and her name is Aunjanue.

William Lucking: Piermont “Piney” Winston

Piney was Opie’s dad and one of SAMCRO’s “First 9.”

William Lucking sadly passed away almost exactly one year ago, on October 18, 2021. Born June 17, 1941, he was 80 years old when he died. He started acting in 1968 after graduating with degrees in literature and theatre from UCLA and the Pasadena Playhouse. He also co-founded the Santa Paula Theatre Center along with Dana Elcar in 1986.

Lucking was known for roles such as Byron Metcalf in Red Dragon, Harland Pike in the 80s Outlaws TV series, and Bud Farraday in Contraband. By the time of his death, Lucking had 161 acting credits and 2 directing credits.

He was married twice, the first time from 1965 to 1995 to Marycarolyn “Mimi” Hawkins. They had two daughters together and were together until Mimi died from cancer. Lucking remarried Sigrid Insull in 1996.
