The View co-host and moderator Whoopi Goldberg apologized Thursday to conservative group Turning Point USA for insinuating they are Neo-Nazis.
On Monday, she criticized a student action summit that Turning Point staged the week prior. Whoopi Goldberg lumped in the event’s attendees with Neo-Nazi demonstrators outside the event.
On Thursday’s episode of The View, Goldberg admitted she “put the young people at the conference in the same category as the protestors outside. I don’t like it when people make assumptions about me, and it’s not any better when I make assumptions about other people, which I did. So, my bad. I’m sorry.

Whoopi Goldberg: No Stranger To Controversy
Goldberg seems to be a glutton for controversies.
Roughly five years ago, Goldberg compared then-President Donald Trump to terrorists on The View. Specifically, she wondered if he’s views are similar to that of the Taliban.
Goldberg said the president’s past comments about women, plans for Planned Parenthood, skewering of the media and immigration executive order supported her comparison.
Additionally, while co-hosting The View in January, Goldberg she said that the Holocaust was “not about race.”
Goldberg’s comment and the discussion that ensued led to widespread calls for her to be fired from The View. As of Friday, a Change.org petition calling for her ouster contained nearly 46,000 signatures.
Meanwhile, gossip website Suggest said on Tuesday that Goldberg and co-host Joy Behar are in-fighting. Behar is trying to get Goldberg fired so she can be The View’s only senior host, according to Suggest.
“Joy’s [is] quietly campaigning for Whoopi’s removal,” a source allegedly said, according to Suggest. “She’s said for months now Whoopi’s a liability and it’s in everyone’s interest if she gets greased so the rating can improve and they can bring in new talent.”
