Actor Bradley Cooper joined Howard Stern yesterday to talk about his latest film “American Sniper,” based on the life and death of the man with the most confirmed sniper kills in U.S. military history, Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

During the interview, Cooper told Stern about traveling to Midlothian, Texas to meet with Chris Kyle’s parents to discuss making a movie about their son’s life.

“You’re sitting there at the kitchen table…in the same seat that you watched this guy in the home videos…just a couple months…a year before,” Cooper said.

“I was watching [a video from] November 28, 2012, knowing that on February 2, 2013 [the day Kyle was murdered]…that was it,” he said.

Cooper said he understood that it must have been a strange moment for Kyle’s parents, noting that he and director Clint Eastwood were just “two guys from Hollywood who are going to make a movie about their son.”

“All we cared about…letting them know, that we’re not here to f*ck around, we’re gonna do everything we can,” Cooper said.
