U.S. fighter jets conduct flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in a new Facebook video posted by the Department of Defense. The Truman is supporting Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve in the fight against ISIS.
The ship is on watch 24/7, 365 days of the year. Its home to more than 5,200 crew and 70 aircraft. The Truman’s flight deck measures 4.5 acres. The carrier can reach speeds up to 30 knots. It’s powered by two A4W nuclear reactors. The vessel is capable of traveling for about 25 years before refueling.
