Last night was the annual “Dancing with the Stars” trio dance, where each contestant dances with not only their partner, but another DWTS pro.

For Army veteran Noah Galloway, that meant dancing the salsa with his regular partner, Sharna Burgess, as well as eliminated pro Emma Slater. Slater was chosen for her energy, Burgess explained. The team had a lot to overcome in order to perform a traditional salsa, as Noah’s left leg was amputated above the knee, making it difficult to get the movement right during the dances. But Sharna remained positive that they could figure it out, saying, “Between the three of us, we have five arms. There must be something we can do.”

The judges praised the dance, saying it was fun and stayed true to the style and character of the salsa. Judge Bruno Tonioli was so excited that he even fell out of his chair! Noah’s scoring was slightly higher for this dance, 32 out of 40. But the dreaded double elimination still looms — will America’s favorite veteran be going home tonight?
