Christmas tree growers from across the northeast region are doing their part to bring a touch of Christmas to members of the military and their families.

Students and other volunteers formed an assembly line to get Christmas trees prepared to ship out for the Trees for Troops program.

More than 450 trees were loaded by an assembly line of fifth graders and combat veterans in New Hampshire, Tuesday. The trees will be shipped to military families in Missouri.

Volunteers said sometimes all a service member needs is the smell of Christmas to remind them of home.
